Another baby on the way!

I hate hiding my pregnancy until the first trimester is over, but we made it!! This past Saturday we went in for a check-up with my OB and got to hear a heartbeat! ( As any new mom knows, it’s such a relief to hear it, since your appointments are so far apart from each other). It took the doctor a minute to find out where the baby was, so I was totally nervous. She could hear my heartbeat on top of the baby’s, which was funny. But rest assured everything sounded normal.

I know what it’s like to not hear a heartbeat, as we did suffer a miscarriage during our first pregnancy ( before we got pregnant with Charli). There’s no more awful feeling than knowing your baby didn’t make it. Luckily we were very early and didn’t need any medical intervention. And luckily we got pregnant again soon after.

My weight gain is 7# so far. I gained 35# last go around. If you know me, you know I’m tiny, so 35# was a lot of weight on this little frame. I’m already showing, as expected. My cravings have gotten the best of me these last few weeks and it’s time to crack down on the diet and lessen the amount of sweets! Thank goodness I believe in regular exercise…. Or I’m sure I’d be super-sluggish right now and 5# heavier…LOL!!

I plan to document this pregnancy and my fitness routine! Cheer me on and let’s hope I have a healthy 6 months ahead of me! I know it will be a challenge with a full-time job, a needy toddler and a house to maintain.

If you have any good fitness tips or recipes, please send them my way!!

Thanks!

  1. Love, the pregnancy announcement. The shirts are hilarious. Very excited for you all!! Sending warm wishes for a healthy pregnancy. We’re looking forward to following it on your blog, glad you’ll be documenting the journey!

  2. Awe. Your announcement is so cute! Congrats on making it through the first trimester. That was always so rough for me. Especially with a toddler, I’m sure you’re exhausted. Can’t wait to hear about the rest of your pregnancy. I hope it goes smooth!

  3. Congratulations! You are such an adorable preggo! :) Miscarriages are so hard. We also had a miscarriage shortly before getting pregnant with our baby. It is hard to wait until the first trimester is over! :)
